Advancing AI education
We received funding from the Centre for Public Impact, through the Google.org AI Opportunity Fund. This grant will enable us to train 180 public sector employees in basic AI skills. The CPI call was highly competitive (over 400 applications!), and we are proud to be one of 80 organizations selected from 24 countries. Together, we will help over 20,000 people from underserved communities gain essential AI knowledge. This marks another step in our mission to provide AI education and expand our activities, which have already trained over 1,000 officials this year. Czechitas and Masaryk University, awarded for a cybersecurity project, also attended the ceremony. Want to learn more about our plans? Contact us!
Where we’ve been connecting
Our Lukáš has been busy sharing his expertise on generative AI! He gave a compelling talk at the Learning & Development Day at the British Embassy in Prague, focusing on AI’s impact on everyday life, the labor market, education, and society. His presentation sparked positive feedback and lively discussions about the future of AI. In tandem with this event, we extended our public administration training to UK colleagues, further strengthening international collaboration in education and technology.
Lukáš also participated in a panel discussion at the Czech Association of Insurance Companies conference at the CNB Congress Centre, alongside Alžběta Krausová, Jan Romportl, and Miroslav Singer. Their discussion centered on the future of AI in insurance and the associated ethical considerations.
Continuing his engagement, Lukáš joined a panel of experts at Digital Czechia Week to address prevention, digital literacy, and online safety. He then followed up on our public administration education initiatives with a presentation on the benefits of AI at the Modern Public Administration conference in Olomouc.
Last but not least, our Lenka shared her experience using AI tools for effective science communication at the Science Communication 2024 conference organized by VědaVýzkum.cz.
You could also see Lukáš on Czech Television’s Události, komentáře program, where he emphasized the need to modernize public administration. He stressed that despite failures in the digitization of construction procedures, for example, Czechia should not shy away from innovation. On the contrary, it should learn from these mistakes and continue digitization efforts to make public administration more efficient.
Where can you meet us?
Come celebrate Christmas with us at the AI Tinkerers Prague meeting on 17 December 2024! We will focus on how large language models (LLMs) can capture the essence of Christmas.
